“And the Grammy goes to….”

Love Bites (So Do I), Halestorm!!

Insert the most ecstatic family in the world jumping on each other, screaming, hugging, high five-ing, crying, laughing, kissing, popping champagne, taking celebratory chugs of alcohol, and finally… texting and calling the crap out of Halestorm’s bassist… Josh.  If you are new to reading this, Josh is my cousin and I don’t have the words to describe how truly proud I am of him.  He plays about 300 shows per year, lives on a tiny bus, lives the most healthy lifestyle (he could chose sex, drugs and rock-n-roll), works his knickers off, is so talented and just the most humble dude in the world.  The coolest part of it all was witnessing his parents and siblings reaction.  Pirceless.  Among a ton of wine and champagne, the family finished this…

Other than drinking wine and celebrating… my weekend was packed with more fun and food that I don’t even want to talk about.  Buffalochickenwingspizzabeercerealfrozenyogurt.  *quickly pulls shirt over head in disgust and disappointment.*  Now, I always say that you shouldn’t feel guilty for overindulging, but when you do it every darn weekend, there has to be an intervention!  How are you guys doing with your eats?  Want a small challenge?  I need one.  If you want to join me, please let me know because we have to keep track and if you hit every rule, there will be a little something for you at the end ;)

Love Your Body at Home Challenge!

Start Date:  Valentines Day, Thursday Feb 14th

End Date:  Thursday March 14th

Guidelines:

1.)  Move your body for at least 30 minutes 5 days per week

2.)  Past 3pm, ONLY ingest protein, fat, fruit and vegetables (no carbs or unwanted sugars)

3.)  Drink 8 cups of water daily

4.)  Eat 5 servings of vegetables and fruit per day (dried fruit does not count).

5.) Eat 4-7 small meals per day

**Please do not make this challenge more complicated that it looks.  It is very simple and if you are doubting a decision… you are probably right and you should not do it (when in doubt, don’t).**

Keep a small book with your notes in it.  At the end of every day, write the numbers 1-5.  Write “yes” or “no” under each guideline rule if you have met the requirements or not.  At the end of the month, if you have hit more than 116 “yeses” out of 145, you get a prize!  For example…

2/14/13

1.) Yes (because I worked out for 1/2 hour)

2.)  No (because I ate 2 cookies at 7pm)

3.)  Yes (drank 9 cups)

4.)  Yes (ate sooo many fruits/veggies)

5.)  Yes (5 small meals)

So at the bottom of the page, my number is a 4 out of 5 for the day.  At the end of the month, you will tally your total and send it in to me for a prize.  But I have to see your book and noted as well for proof!

Please let me know if you are doing this!  I will be writing about my journey with it on the blog often.  You have a couple days to prepare and we will hold each other accountable!

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to kick it off loving your own body first and foremost!!
