1. What did you eat for breakfast?
A blueberry chocolate smoothie. 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 cup fresh baby spinach, 1.5 cups almond milk, 1 tsp cocoa
2. How much water do you drink a day?
I drink about 7-10 cups of water per day. Sometimes more and very rarely less.
3. What is your favorite current workout?
I am trying to get into running more (2-5 miles 4x per week) and I am starting to really look forward my run days. I am also working on my CrossFit gymnastic skills (which I use to hate) but am thoroughly enjoying now.
4. How many calories do you eat a day?
Oh geez-la-weez. Um… back when I use to count calories (3 years ago) I would eat anywhere from 1800-2500 cals per day. More towards the heavier side on my workout days. I would have to say I am about the same now? But I can’t be sure because I don’t count. My workouts are pretty demanding and I noticed that if I try to count calories or restrict, my body hates me. I try to eat intuitively for the most part.
5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
-Banana, nut butter and coconut
-Smoothies
-Pear and baby bell cheese
- Nuts and raisins (I tend to eat way too many tho!)
-Greek yogurt and berries (or granola)
- Arnold thin with nut butter
-Larabar
-Left over cold food (yes, I love to eat cold food… anything)
6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
Smoothies or an arnold thin sandwich that would consist of veggies and organic deli meat, a veggie burger or tuna fish. Left overs from dinner or a greek yogurt mosh pit of things.
7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
Hmmm… well…. I use to hate training my back, but now I like it. I have pretty big/strong shoulders so it is always fun to push in that area too. Legs are fun when you use just your bodyweight.
8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
I think my hamstrings (isolated movements) because they always seem to stay sore the longest.
9. What are your “bad” food cravings?
Ugh, I’m a SUCKER for sweets. Anything sweet… except like gummy bears, sweet tarts, little kid candy stuff. I love chocolate, peanut butter, cookies, pb&j, icing. I am not a huge pizza person, pasta person or chip person. Just give me the sugar.
10. Do you take a multi-vitamin or supplements?
Yes I take Vitamin D, fish oil, probiotic, whey protein powder and then some other everyday medicine(s).
11. Do you eat fast food?
No way.
12. Who is your biggest supporter?
My parents. No doubt. They have been by my side during some crazy stuff in my life. They never once doubted me or turned their back to me…. even when I was being a total “you-know-what”. They have showed me tremendous support over the past 3 years with BAWS and for that, I am ever grateful.
I also can not go without saying that the BAWS members/clients have supported me all this way. I mean obviously I wouldn’t be here without you! I have to give a special shout out to D&J (and C) because you guys have been there through some difficult times (personal and business) and have always made me laugh throughout the way. Thank you, all!
13. Do you have a gym membership?
BAWS studio lifetime access card only.
14. How many hours of sleep do you get per night?
About 6 months ago I use to average 7-9 and now I am squeezing out 4.5-6.5. Yes, it’s not good and I am completely aware of it. My hours are getting longer and I am having to get up earlier and earlier. I seem to become very frantic in my sleep around 3am because I jolt up with a beating heart, grabbing my clock and thinking I am late for work. Worst feeling evvvvvvver.
15. How many times a week do you eat out?
Um… 2? Shoot… lately, 3? I would love to stick with 1. For my wallet and my waist.
16. Do you have a “cheat” day?
Everyday is a 20% cheat day. Eat clean 80% of the time. I actually try to have a little sweet everyday or I will go nuts and oneday eat a whole bag of kisses. No bueno.
17. Do you drink alcohol?
Yes. Red wine. More than I’d like sometimes. I use to never ever drink. There was a time when I drank not a sip for 1 year. (I was 25)
18. Do you have a workout buddy?
Not really. I love working out on my own because I zone out (but zone out from the world and get lost in “push mode”). I love being inside my head and pushing myself to the limits without a single other thing on my mind. It recharges me and lets me get out any anxiety, anger, frustrations, stress in a healthy way. Sometimes my Dad and I will get together and bust out a CrossFit Hero workout together. I like to do that. My Dad amazes me. I do like working out with my Adventure Race squad when the season hits tho. They are legit and we push each other to the max… a lot of cheering is ensued.
19. What is the best thing that has changed in your life after committing to a healthy lifestyle?
I am happy. However, my life isn’t completely healthy ever. Right now I eat healthy, workout and laugh a lot. But I don’t sleep enough, am stressed (sometimes) and drink a little too much red wine. I think I have always had qualities that represent a healthy person at any and every given time, but there always seems to be one or two attributes missing from the “healthy pie chart” within me. I guess if all the pieces were aligned properly, that would mean I am a perfect-healthy and live a perfect-healthy lifestyle. Life is not made for perfect. It is made for the journey to STRIVE to be better.. striving for something is healthy. Perfect is not. And I am doing just that. So, being happy with where I am in life has been a struggle to finally adjust to, but one that I have learned, earned and will hopefully keep. I am happy.
20. What is the last healthy thing you did?
Laughed. Seriously… I just hung up the phone cracking up.
