Wowowow!
Last night I got to see Halestorm in action and I gotta tell you…. they rocked out! I am not saying this just because the bassist is my cousin… That was THE BEST concert I have ever been to. They performed for 2.5 hours and played two sets. The first set was more of their ballad songs in an acoustic version while wearing all white and being very intimate with the crowd. The second set was their more hard core rock music while wearing all black and going nuts. Arejay, the drummer, is 25 and I have NEVER seen a drummer better than him (and I have seen some goooood drummers). All the other band mates left the stage and let Arejay have at it. He was going crazy twirling his sticks in the air, throwing them to the audience (then in split seconds had more sticks in his hand), was using his head and feet on the symbols (while moving a mile a minute) and then finally pretended he ran out of all his sticks. He looked at his hands and feet like that was all he had left to play the drums with. He went buck wild on the kit with his limbs, pounding his fists and jumping up on his seat… after a good four minutes of that, he pulled out these monstrous sticks (each one had to have weighed at least 10 lbs) and played some more. The insane thing was that he didn’t slow down with those suckers. I have never ever seen anything like it. The whole group has such an amazing chemistry and Lzzy’s voice is just out of this world. Beautiful… and her and Joe (main guitarist) did some really great songs just together. Of course I have to gush about Joshie… it is really awesome to see a family member in their glory, having fun and making other people have a memorable night out. He is so dang talented and good at what he does. I loved their outfits (his especially) and I can’t congratulate him and them enough on all of their hard work. Unbelievable… so Grammy worthy. Rock it out Cous…
I apologize, they are not the best pictures.
It makes me want to be a groupie. Hahaha… seriously. I just got off the phone with my sister and she said she couldn’t sleep all night because of how amazed she was seeing them live their dreams. True rock stars and professionals.
…..
Okay, so before I went to the concert I trained 8 people and somehow then mustered up energy to get in a circuit workout.
run 400m
10 pull ups
20 box jumps
30 wall balls
40 deadlifts
2 rounds
then
run 400m
10 burpees
20 ring rows
30 tricep kickbacks
40 mountain climbers
2 rounds
It was a good one and I was done before a half hour hit. I took my time a little. I ran home to shower, eat some Chinese food (shrimp and veggies) with my family and then hit the road.
Hey, have a great day and weekend y’all ;) I am tired just from reliving that.
