Howdy, Folks!

Who loves Bob Harper?  I do.  I really liked him when I watched The Biggest Loser (I haven’t watched it in a couple seasons) and I have seen him a lot more in the CrossFit community.  Word is… he makes the contestants on the ranch for Biggest Loser do CrossFit now.  Pretty cool.  I am going to let him lead you in today’s workout.  Click the link below!

When the Pulsations program was going on (it ended Tuesday), I would write 2 emails per week for the women.  They would consist of motivational pictures, recipes and at home workouts.  I really liked writing them because they really made me dig deep into my old cobwebbed treasure chest…. ya know, things that I learned in my early twenties and old recipes that I knew would benefit their goals.  I was so happy I remembered one recipe in particular and I am even more happy that I made it today!

Avocado Chocolate Pudding!

Now please don’t make a face and close out of this blog yet.  I really think you should give it a try because you would never EVER know it had avocado in it.  It is super easy and fan-freakin’-tastic!  I used to make it in the food processor, but it bit the dust the other day (while making baws!) and I had to use a blender.  Still worked great.  I also tweaked the recipe a tinsy bit.

This satisfyingly silky dessert won’t let you stop eating it.  The consistency resembles pudding to a T, the taste is a buttery chocolate and the REAL FOOD ingredient list keeps your insides happy.

1 medium soft avocado

1/4 cup almond butter

1/4 cup water

1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder

1/3 cup agave nectar (you may want a half cup, but I liked it better with less)

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 tbsp coconut oil

dash of sea salt

1 tbsp vanilla

Place all ingredients in to the blender and whirl away.  Pour into a dish and let it chill.  Please don’t eat half the pudding while its warm like I did.  Wait… it gets even better tasting, I promise!  Mmmmmm mmm Mm Mm.

Of course I ate my lunch a little backwards… and yes, I ate at 11:15 (I was hungry because I ate breakfast at 6am and worked out at 9am).  The dessert (pudding) came first and then my main meal.  Eh, whatevs.  I had an all organic hot dog and sweet potato for lunch.  The Spartans are carb loading (bananas, sweet potatoes, apples, etc) and drinking tons of water this week because our race is on Saturday.  Many people wait until the day before to carb load and hydrate…. you missed the window, sweet tart.  Start  a couple days earlier… that’s when it really matters.  And yes, there is a hot dog under all those condiments… I get that trait from my Dad ;)

Have a terrific day with food choices that will give you nothing but POWER!
